Basic steps for a RFID project
- Determination of the process model to trace and definition of the attributes that RFID can offer with respect to
other data collection technologies.
- Calculation of the return on investments considering benefits related to the cost reduction of the process model
traced and additional ones that resulting from the considerable impact on existing processes and IT systems.
- Generating the integration with the existing systems or developing more efficient ones, comparing the process impact
of the change.
- Evaluating carefully the number of data transaction (daily or monthly) of the RFID project in order to test the IT systems'
processing power. Middleware areas able to select and control incoming data could be very useful to interface the local IT
systems with the RFID reader.
